- Reggie-B is a true musician, singer, songwriter, and producer.
Born in Topeka, Kansas (The Sunflower State). Reggie was raised in a heavily musical environment. His father was a musician and his mother a vocalist on the local scene.
Reggie-B started singing and playing multiple instruments at the age of four. By the age of ten, he was composing songs and playing at churches in the Topeka and Kansas City areas. By age fourteen, he was performing at local clubs and participating in studio sessions with his band “Vision”. He later participated in Jazz workshops at Washburn University and won the student scholarship to go on to the statewide Jazz workshop at Emporia State University. He also participated in the Jazz Workshop at Berkeley School of Music in Los Angeles.
He later moved to Dallas, Texas where he performed at many local clubs, one of which was The Steve Harvey Comedy Club, where he was part of the house band (The Whitney Russell& Reggie-B Duo).
His musical influences spread across the board from, Donny Hathaway to Frank Zappa. Reggie-B is a very eclectic young man and without a doubt is a one man band.
In 2007 he was suddenly gotten attention in the new school beat scene via myspace, had been air-played from opinion leaders like Benji B and Gilles Peterson, then just put out his solo debut album "Go". This is first of 2 EP series off from the album.
First release in 2008 from Japanese label CIRCULATIONS, is a singer-songwriter/producer/one-man band Reggie B.
Though as the member of Kansas based Hip Hop affiliates Innnatesound Crew with a producer Joc Max of legendary Basement Khemist (Beyond Real), Reggie B has been working on music by himself since beginning of his career.
"We R Here" is produced by instrument genius, the Motor City best kept secret Saadiq, the 1/2 of Platinum Pied Pipers, who is also going to drop his first solo joint from CIRCULATIONS. Reggie B delivers the next level Mid-West funkiness over the Detroit manner head banging of this tight minimal beat. Format: 12" vinyl Shipping Date: 15/Feb/2008 Press in Germany
On this intergalactic P-Funk biz, Japanese Beat Trio Super Smoky Soul twisted with opposite direction of arrangement into dreamy Hip Hop Psychedelia. For all the beat geeks they serve another track of doper spaced-out beat cosmos as "Re-Edit".
This Includes a bonus song of the album title song "Go", the manifesto of his music with SICK bass & beats.
From 4Lux Recordings, Reggie B also released another project "Future Music" with Slum Village drummer Daru recently.
