At 6:40am on December 10, 2007, Chaka said…: fyi apple, there were to d.c. cats that were THE pioneers of it in DC when it first came out. no one else was playing it and they played it from jump. i used to live in DC at the time. the djs were julius and john johnson [groove district crew]. they used to play at aroma bar in cleveland park. this was from 2000 -- 2003. not sure where they are now, but i believe john johnson is still around spinning. check them out if you get the chance. they'll sort you out with broken beat. peas!
