Adela Street is a new distribution company started by Nick Rees (EX Goya Music/Honest Jons). Any labels or producers looking for worldwide distribution of Vinyl/CD should contact me at nick@adelastreet.com.
Lets get back on track with the tracks back on wax!
Nick your like an angel in disguise.I don't know how many times I've been browbeaten into thinking that the vinyl wasn't needed! Well I need it & so do so many others.
I'll be more than happy to put money in your pocket. An acute ear is needed & you guys in goya had it,unlike most of the record shops out there.
Here's a few artist that I would be more than happy to see on vinyl,Daco,C.O.N.E,Ceramic,Africa Science & medlin. All of these artist are up on this network, but not on vinyl it's a damn shame!
I take my hat of to you & hope all goes well.
yeah, gonna watch this all closely... small runs for small money would be perfect but im sure if thats possible... unless you sacrifice the quality of the cut?
nick... what kind of packages are you hoping to offer... will you be using the old goya distribution network? how is this all gonna work?
To be clear ....The distribution network is set up (I've done 15 years now in music distribution) and initially i will be just distributing, not pressing (sorry for the confusion). Pressing is something labels will have to take care of themselves unfortunately.
Yes Goya had an acute ear and sponsored many releases but often the labels didnt have an acute sense of marketing, press and promotion !
Its OK pressing records that are cool but its then getting people into the stores to buy them.. thats the key / tricky part.
Maybe Daco,C.O.N.E,Ceramic,Africa Science & medlin all need to pull their resources and powers together to warrant pressing a 12" EP just like CO OP has done with some of its 12"s ?
Also varying styles and remixes on an EP might be beneficial thus targeting different markets to ensure selling enough to warrant pressing . IE house mix /Drum n Bass Mix / Broken Mix.
i think pooling is a good way to deal with the costs involved. also, as we know artists often have other beneficial talents (art/video, marketing/promotion) or connections to people who do... one of the things too that helps with building up multiple artists is people remixing each other. that way buyers get exposed to the work of multiple people by purchasing just 1 12"--then if you dig the other folks work... more sales!
Good luck with this nick I minght have something to send your way on shortly, we been cooking up a nice project in barcelona, Diho for CdM is over from japan ....
