Introducing 'the ULTIMATE CHALLENGE' .....The whole Politik album – from start to finish - remixed by Monsieur GREG !!!

Many thanks to Bembe Segue and Mark de Clive-Lowe for setting up this awesome contest.
Now that I’ve been thru it, I realise how beneficial this experience has been for me from an artistic viewpoint. It’s kind of like I took part in the making of this fabulous LP, with two great talents of today’s music as private professors. To tell you the truth, I didn’t think I’d actually remix the whole album as I got started, but I soon found myself badly hooked.

Starting today, exclusive to CoopR8, I will be dropping a remix a day for your listening pleasure.
I will also add comments about the joys and pains i've been thru in the process.
And of course, I’d love to read your comments, remarks or suggestions.

Time to share some good vibes.

Today's special is the 'Black sun acoustic remix'.
This track is exclusively made of acoustic sounds recorded at home (smacking , creaking , squealing ...) and sequenced on MPC2000XL
Truth is, I had kind of a hard time with the tempo change, but in the end I think I fixed it.

today , I'm putting forward 'Sweet funky remix'.
In this track I've built my 4/4 rhythm like this : two downbeats than two upbeats .

The attacklessness of the original juno pad inspired the inversion.

Mark and Bembe achieved with 'The essence' a fabulous-throbbing-free-jazz-dub - and what a bass !!!
I tried in my remix to compose with its organic nature, playing with Mrs Bembe's breathing .
This is my dub vision of it.

Yet I tried to give it a more 'old school' jazzy touch with an accoustic bass.

I replayed the bass with my beloved 'littlephatty' and twisted the rythm to make it more dance-able .
