Deep London 02
From the soul of DJ Stan-ley, the co-founder of Deep London, comes a deep funky house rendition by of the temptations classic, 'Papa Was a Rolling Stone'. This sun-ripened remix takes a slice of classic soul from South Africa, originally featured on the album 'Africa Got Soul' by Abavuki, and adds a touch of sub-tropical bass, making an audio cocktail perfect for this summer's massive club sound systems.
Papa Was Rolling Stone (DJ Stan-ley Ingroove Vocal Mix) first appeared as a promo on Deep London 2009 Miami WMC sampler, which reached number 10 on Traxsource's chart.

DEEP LONDON RECORDS AFRO SAMPLER EP 01
Ft. DELE SOSIMI , STAN-LEY & STEFANO CESTRA
Hot off the heels of their fantastic Miami Sampler debut EP earlier this year, Deep London continue to gather momentum with a scorching ‘Afro Sampler EP’ fresh for the summer dancefloors! Getting the booty shakin' party started is former Fela Kuti cohort Dele Sosimi with the incredibly catchy ‘Turbulant Times’, ripe with an incessant brass hook and sunkissed beats with an ‘Ingroove Dub Remix’ from Deep London’s Stan-ley. In addition Stan-ley teams up with Dele Sosimi who sings on the hypnotic rhythmic groove ‘Atide’ (meaning ‘Here We Are’), which comes in the shape of a deep flavoured mix from Melchyor A and a twisted dark ‘Deep Tech Remix’ from DJ Garphie. Rounding off the package, Italian drummer and percussion guru, Stefano Cestra collaborates with Stan-ley on the irresistible ‘Amandla Awhetu’ (meaning ‘The Power Is Ours), laced with a beautiful guitar solo, live drums and cheeky brass stabs which ride over a mean bass hook on ‘Stan-ley’s Deep London Dub Remix’.
Deep London club nights were spawned from a meeting of 2 DJ minds across a London dancefloor when Australian expat Johnny Kaz and French/West Indian Stan-ley took it upon themselves to create a party where they could share their love for Deep and Soulful house with the Capital’s masses. Deep London launched in 2007 with great success showcasing the creme de la creme of house jocks including Dennis Ferrer, Franck Roger, Alix Alvarez and The Martinez Brothers (UK Debut) among many others.. March 2009 saw the launch of Deep London Records with their debut ‘Miami EP’ featuring tracks Candy Apple ft Anjou ‘Leaving You’, Deep Y’all Aka DJ Rico ‘Building Of Deep’, Africa Got Soul ft Abavuki ‘Papa Was a Rolling Stone’ and Stan-ley ‘Love Me Or Leave Me’, which gained huge support from the house music fraternity worldwide and reached number 10 on Traxsource's chart.

This is lovely! What a dope package...genuine Afrobeat! Musically the Stan-ley mixes are my favs. Melchyor A's is a good quality mix with a yummy beat as well. Like them all. Full support!
Jihad Muhammad
Deep London - Afro Sampler EP - My 2 favs are Atide ( melchyor's hmida version) and Amandla Awhetu ( dj stan-ley deep london dub ). I'll rock theses both in my sets for sure. Nothing like that afro beat music
Shannon Harris / Chicago
My two favorites from this EP are:
3- STAN-LEY & DELE SOSIMI - ATIDE (DJ GARPHIE DEEP TECH REMIX)
This one seems to crawl through your skin as soon as you hear the first beat. I think it commands an instant dance floor response.
4- STAN-LEY & STEFANO CESTRA - AMANDLA AWHETU (DJ STAN-LEY DEEP LONDON DUB MIX)
I love the percussion and guitar on this too. It has a afro-beat/jazz appeal to it. Definitely something that would fit my AROMA nites in Chicago.
Martin East / Kapa Music / LA
Love the DJ Stan-ley London Dub Mix - George Benson guitar very nice touch.
Garphie's Deep Tech will definitely be getting a spin out at Mundial my club night.
Atide - Melchyor's mix is my fav' - This is one for the Mundial Radio Show - Super set of tracks.
Yass
This mix : Atide (Melchyor A's Hmida Version) is wicked!!! Really like the fiesta afro vibe!
Andy Ward
I'm right behind Atide..was on last weeks shows
Sy Sez (Soul Heaven, AphroDisiax)
Wicked little EP from my friend Johnny Kaz at Deep London...Lovin Stan-leys afro-esque sound. This one will be firmly in my wallet, ready for the summer parties....
Tony Touch
This sampler is fire!
Fabio Genito
Very cool package! Will support for sure!
Suge Transitions
Coming from Africa myself, I must say the spirit of my land is captured in this ep... Turbulent Times - Ones of the tracks that capture north/west African style , beauty right here. Atide - Well Im gonna biased regarding Garphie's mix , cause honestly that is a tunes after my own heart...That's the sound I 'd played live to all deep tech lovers.. Melchyor's mix is wicked too.
Amandla Awhetu : who ever played the guitar is a monster..Stan made a true hit with that... This is an awesome one by Deep London I totally love this EP , a must have.
Halo
Stan-ley & Dele Sosimi - Atide(Melchyor A's H) is the track for me, played it last night good sound..
Atjazz
Turbulent Times (Stan-ley's Ingroove Dub Mix) is just awesome !
Pablo Martinez
DJ Garphie Deep Tech Remix, will be supporting this heavily.
Nico De Ceglia
My favourites are Atide remixed by DJ Garphie and Amandla Awhetu. Well done!!
Vincent Kwok
The stan-ley deep dub is the one for me. Nice jazzy guitar solo with a george benson vibe. Great for warmups
Kiko Navarro
Here are some nice afrogrooves, favourite mix is Atide (Melchyor A's Hmida Version)
Oli Lazarus - Papa Records
Very cool ep. Thanks for this.. will support 4 sure!!!
DJ Chilly / Miami
- Turbulent Times
The dirty, raw and primal sounds of this track are immediately captivating.
The track is simple but effective. At times the horns sound a bit too
repetitive but as a whole the track does work. The build is nice, the
chanting is cool and I am liking the evolution of Stan-ley.
- Atide (Melchyor A¹s Hmida Version)
I do like this track. It glides along effortlessly while maintaining its
essential groove. The vocal drops and scat gives the track a unique
signature. Though not easy to categorize, it will work in different
settings.
- Atide (DJ Garphie Deep Tech Remix)
We like this mix too; very fun, very bouncey, very funky. Nice breakdown.
This one¹s a keeper too.
- Amandala Awhetu
Gimme lots of percussion and I¹m probably half way in. Throw in a bit of
funk and that¹s all she wrote for me. While the intro is very strong, the
remainder of track flattens out rather than deliver on the lovely set up.
Gavin Mills / Copyright
Love the Turbulent Times track, that's the winner on the package for me ....... Cool osibisa style horns and wicked beats can definitely use this one.
Christos Kedras - Kapa Music
Different in a good way. Turbulent Times has a new latinaires flair and Melchyor's Atide a nice lazy vibe, both are great for my more loungey sets. Also liking Amandla Awhetu. Overall a strong & interesting package. Supporting.
Ralf Gum
All 4 are nice groovy tracks. My fav is: 4 Amandla Awhetu (DJ Stan-ley Deep London Dub Mix) . Played it a few times.
Claudia Matola - Enlefko 87.7FM.GR
"Full support on my radio shows!!!"

Full support and will play on my show and play out too!
Deep London is no slouch , looking forward to what to label will go next.
For now , nice taster!
Tedd Patterson
Both mixes of Atide rock.
Bear Who?
Nice ep , very afro...Great vibes...Thats Ibiza all day ! The techy is coll , but my favourite is Turbulent Times !
Mr Mike MAP Dance / Switzerland / Radio
Playing the Turbulent Times. Getting really good feedback.
Dario D’attis - MAP Dance / Switzerland
I love and play the MELCHYOR A'S HMIDA Version on this one.
Fantastic afro grooves. . . .
Andy Holder
All 4 tracks are quite nice , liking the afro & latin mixture, good grooves.
Dalminjo / Norway
Yeah, the last EP had some proper grooves. Like what you guys are doing at Deep London.
Like track 1 & 2 from this new one. Will play :)

London club night Deep London launches its record label...
Packed with more energy and glow than a box of Readybreak, there’s no stopping this duo in their pursuit for their love of house music. We can only expect great things to come from Deep London in 2009 as Johnny & Stan-ley get set to launch Deep London Records this Spring. Armed with a hot Sampler EP in time for Miami WMC, the boys showcase some of the brilliant tunes they have signed from artist’s including Candy Apple, Deep Y’All, Africa Got Soul and some productions and remixes of their own too.
First up is an emotional slice of soulfulness from Candy Apple Productions featuring the sublime voice of Anjou who delivers a stunning heartfelt vocal over a lush house soundscape. Sunny afro vibes come courtesy of French DJ/Producer Deep Y’All (aka DJ Rico) who delivers ‘Building of Deep’ featuring vocal stabs from Kathrin. Injecting some proper funk into the house, Stan-ley delivers a hot remix of Africa Got Soul’s brilliant cover of Temptations classic ‘Papa Was A Rolling Stone’ laced with funky guitars and infectious jazz flavas from South African Jazz band Abavuki. Rounding off the package is a remix from upcoming producer Garphie (recently signed to Soul Heaven) who conjours up an intense deep infectious groove riddled with haunting synths on Stan-ley’s own production, ‘Love Me Or Leave Me’.
Johnny Kaz has been immersed in the London music scene for over 10 years during which time he was the head dance buyer for London’s flagship store of HMV. This talented and versatile jock has been djing since he was 15 on his own Australian turf, but since he touched down in London he has played in an array of different style venues…from eclectic sets in the infamous members club Chinawhite, to chill/lounge sets in Sochu Lounge, to electronica at The Players night at the AKA, or latin rhythms on the beach in Mykonos. Johnny’s DJ sets have taken him all over the world including Dubai, Australia, Amsterdam, Miami, Portugal and Italy.
Stan-ley (aka Elbootyshaker) has been instrumental in the establishment of two of London’s premiere music venues. He was seminal resident DJ at Momo’s Kemia Bar from 97/98, then moved on to musical director of London’s infamous members club Chinawhite, which was awarded best club in the world 2003. Stan-ley is currently music director and resident DJ at Raffles Chelsea and Jalouse in London’s West End. Stan-ley has dj’d for many of the worlds celebrities including parties for Madonna, Hugh Hefner, Oswald Boateng, Diesel and the Brits VIP afterparty as well as touring all over the world from Hong Kong to Morroco to Ibiza where he was a resident at El Divino. As a producer Stan-ley has released productions on Tempermental Records, Jamblock, Hex Recordings and Bar Grooves.

Shannon Harris – Chicago
“1 candy apple ft anjou - leaving you (original mix) - i love the dubby intro which builds into a groovy late night mesmerizing romantic jam. the horn solo's with dubby effects on the vocals really compliment one another. i am also feeling the synthesizer chords as well. composition and content wise i think we have a winner here.
2 deep y'all aka dj rico - building of deep (afrodeep mix) - i really see this choon making a big impact in miami. it has the formula for a dance floor banger. the beat is straight to the point with the over laying of the neo soulish vocals compliment one another well. i can't wait to rock this one on a system!!

All we can say is WOW!!!!!
What a launch party! We couldn't have dreamed for a better start.
We'd like to send a big thanks to all of you that came down to our launch at Plan B. We were amazed by the turn out, and Dennis Ferrer totally rocked it, giving us a night we won't forget.
We promised you a quality line-up every month, so for our next night we've got Alix Alvarez from SOLE Channel Music, and Franck Roger from Real Tone Records coming down.
Hailing from the Bronx, New York, Alix's bio speaks for itself. Assistant engineer in Louie Vega and Kenny Dope's own MAW studio...could you ask for a better apprenticeship into house!!! Alix has gone from selling his mix tapes on the streets, to running his own record label in SOLE Channel with his partner Mr V. He has produced classic tracks like 'Rising into Joy' in 2002, co-produced 'Deep (house music)' in 2004, and more recently the massive 'Da Bump'.
Alix has collaborated with names such as Osunlade, Mood II Swing, Malena Perez, and our other special guest Franck Roger.
Parisian Franck has to be one of the hardest working guys in deep house. He has produced over 40 tracks for quality labels such as Kenlou (a MAW label), BBE, Defected, and King Street US to name a few. He is a versatile dj, that can go from soulful, to disco, to bumpy afro beats, and do it so smooth you won't even notice the music's changing.
With strong support abroad from the likes of Louie Vega, Frankie Feliciano, Ron Trent, Osunlade, DJ Spinna, Francois K, and in his native France from DJ Deep, and DJ Gregory, Franck can now express himself freely and is now exploring different horizons open to him by collaborating with artists like Alix Alvarez.
Having produced tracks together, and performed together, you know Alix and Franck are gonna put on a great show, and have some fun at the same time. You won't wanna miss this!!!

Stay deep...
Stan-ley & Johnny xoxo

Hey House Lovers,
After 10 years of sweating it out in the London club scene, Johnny
Kaz from Ready Recordings, currently resident at Chinawhite, has
teamed up with his sparring partner Stan-ley from Ingroove
Recordings, a stalwart in the west-end club scene, to bring you
"DEEP". A night where we will to play true to what we love...deep,
soulful, afro-beat house.
Every month we will also showcase the deep house elite from all over
the world, and for our first night we have special guest DENNIS
FERRER from New York playing a 3 hour set.
For those of you who don't know who this man is. He's been part of a
distinguished group of dj's responsible for making the deep house
movement crossover. That group includes Kerri Chandler, Quentin
Harris, Jerome Sydenham, Louie Vega, Francois K, Joe Klausell, and
Timmy Regisford just to name a few.
Dennis Ferrer (DF) has had phenomenal success over the past few years
with world wide hits including: Blaze 'Most Precious Love'(remix),
Fish Go Deep 'Cure & the Cause'(remix), Sydenham & Ferrer
'Sandcastles'.
More recently DF has released his own artist album, 'The World As I
See It', which has produced the club hits 'Church Lady', 'Underground
is my Home', 'Son of Raw', 'Changed the World', 'Hit It Off', and his
latest soon to be smash 'Touched the Sky'.
DF has also just mixed the latest of Defected Records 'In The House'
series, which has showcased some of house music's best, including
Simon Dunmore, Joey Negro, Danny Krivit, and Copyright to name a few.
