One half of near Siamese DJ partnership manVSwife with Cris Biscuit.
Just got away from being chained to the kitchen sink to create this individual site...oh no! he's coming........
well if the tracks never get *completed* then would you like some help with that? i'm good at finishing tracks (arranging, playing parts, etc...) we can call it a "collab" or whatever you like.
...assuming you like my tunes! hahahahaah...
not in town, been back in barna since tuesday night. let me know how it goes! i AM angling to become a regular face in town however (not moving, just visiting regularly.)
Thanks for supporting us LBZ last night. It was me who played the DJ Rels track :-) What a classic!
I enjoyed the thought provoking conversation too. Hope to see you both on the 15th... Blessings x
Hi Cyndi, I hear you.. lol! Yes, distribution plays a major part in any genre. That said, i can't blame distribution companies though... especially now as a lot of music is sold and played digitally! Therefore it's easier for producers to handle their own biz. It's not like back in the day when producers i know had no option but to fork out £500 or more on white labels.
To be honest, norman jay not knowing that mix does and doesn't surprise me, as i'm sure he's not out there searching new music like when he was one of the first pushing the original version. Why wasn't he sent one though, if not....? I do think as you said the way forward is getting the sound heard! Also presented positively. I'm pretty new to a lot of the "broken" stuff hearing some tracks on gilles peterson and benji b's show.... me and a lot of people i know, got into it, listening to dance diverse on deja a few years back. A lot more dj's are playing the music now though, not only on deja and that's always good but from my casual buying perspective, i have noticed less, new quality music coming out. I suppose we'll have to see what the future holds.
