new 2types on Samurai FM

Hi All,

Hope everyone's well... it's time for a rather summery 2types, so head on over to Samurai FM to get straight into the action. Don't forget, all the old shows are still archived here at so you never need to worry about missing out!

It was a beautiful day when I recorded this show - although the weather in the UK has reverted to the usual drizzle since - and I decided it was high time to focus on the work of one of my favourite labels, Brighton-based Tru Thoughts (www.tru-thoughts.co.uk). For my money they've been one of the most consistent releasers of high quality, non-genre-specific music for the past few years and I love them for it! As you'd expect, there's a bit of Quantic, some Nostalgia 77, a sprinkling of Hint and much more besides...

Alongside the label focus, there's a batch of new and newish tunes from Spengler, Deep Street Soul, The Sunburst Band, Commix (whose LP 'Call To Mind' I've become a bit obsessed with of late - is d'n'b finally making a return to my record box?!) and Young David as well as a threesome of classics from Blue Note's new 'On the Corner' compilation. Oh and there's a golden oldie of a different vintage from PFM that fitted my summer mood perfectly!
